The Town Office serves as Black Diamond's Emergency Operation Centre ("EOC") when circumstances arise.  This means that Emergency Staff will be working out of the Town Office as required during floods or other emergency events.
**  Should a State of Local Emergency need to be declared in the Town of Black Diamond, Administration may cease to conduct certain business transactions at the Town Office (such as paying bills, obtaining business licenses, dog tags, etc.), in order to assist the EOC to operate at a higher level of efficiency.  Regular daily business transactions would resume upon the State of Local Emergency ending.

If there is a need to open an Emergency Reception Centre at any time, the details will be included in the update here at the top of this page, as well as sent out via all necessary methods of communication.  During an emergency, please tune your radio to 100.9fm, and check this webpage regularly for updates.

If necessary, information would also be placed on the Alberta Emergency Alert website.  Residents can sign up on that page to receive updates on their mobile devices via Facebook, Twitter or RSS Feed.  All Emergency Alerts will appear on the Emergency Alert website, and any updates to them.  The local news/radio stations may report on the alerts and their updates.  You may hear an emergency broadcast, interrupting regular programming, depending on the nature of the alert.

Please visit the Are You Prepared? page on the Town's website to ensure you are prepared for emergencies.
