Oilfields General Hospital Services Provides:

  • 24 Hour Emergency Services
    Emergency services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to all patients who present to the department. The severity of illness ranges from minor to life-threatening in nature. This service provides responsibility and accountability for ensuring that from the time a patient arrives at the Emergency Department until their eventual discharge, the quality of care they receive is efficient, effective, and delivered in a timely manner.

    Assesses clients who have a chronic disability or illness and individuals who are terminally ill to secure funding assistance through the Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program for certain basic medical equipment and supplies to help maintain more independent functioning at home. AADL does not provide coverage for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) units. Diabetic Supplies: AADL provides funding assistance to insulin dependant diabetics through the Alberta Monitoring for Health Program. The team of health professionals at the Calgary Aids to Daily Living office are able to assess and authorize for the following AADL benefits:
    - Bathing and Toileting Equipment*
    - Walkers and Walking Aids*
    - Wheelchairs (manual & power)*
    - Wheelchair Cushions and Accessories*
    - Back supports
    - Catheter Supplies
    - Compression Garments*
    - Incontinence Supplies

    Provides a wide range of health services to persons requiring these services be provide within their homes, including palliative care, wound care, personal care, homemaking support, etc. Clients receive an in-home assessment by a Community Care Coordinator. The coordinator works with the client and the family to determine an appropriate care plan which may include:
    - Short-term, long-term and palliative professional care and support services to persons of all ages and any diagnosis;
    - assistance to people requiring care who are being discharged from hospital or wishing to remain in their own homes, who require professional health and supportive care services.

    - A full-time, accredited program of educational, institutional ministry whose goal is to provide a standard consistent with quality institutional care;
    - Encouragement, support, coordination and evaluation of the ministry of denominational clergy and educated teams of lay visitors from the faith communities of greater Calgary.
