At the February 3, 2021 Council meeting Council received a number of letters from the public, as well as a Delegation presentation regarding the (then) rescinded Alberta Coal Policy.  The following resolutions were passed at that meeting:

Moved by Councillor Sharon Hart that Council agree to send a letter to Premier Kenney, advising of concerns related to the provincial government's rescinding of the 1976 Coal Development Policy for Alberta.  

and

Moved by Councillor Veronica Kloiber that Council agree to direct Administration to post the final letter supporting the reinstatement of the Coal Policy to the Town’s website and social media channels.

Although the Province has since reinstated the 1976 Alberta Coal Policy, the letter has been sent, as requested, to the Premier and the cc'd elected officials listed on the correspondence.  Click on the link provided to read the letter.
