Black Diamond enjoys a moderate climate with warm summers (average 22.7° C/73° F), crisp winters (average -8.9° C/16° F) and an average of 2,100 hours of sunshine per year. We also enjoy the benefit of frequent visit from warm "chinook winds" from November through May that can raise the temperature, even in the height of winter, to a balmy 10 to 20° C/50 to 68° F in a matter of hours.

Community Spirit
Black Diamond is buzzing with a strong community of people who care deeply about our town. They show this through volunteerism and participation in community events. We also have numerous community service groups that reach out to everyone from youth to seniors.

Black Diamond, along with all of Alberta, takes pride in having the lowest crime rate and being one of the safest communities in Canada.
